What the weekly limit is
A weekly allowance manages total usage over a longer period and can coexist with a window measured in hours. Having room in a short window does not bypass an exhausted weekly allowance.
Plans and account states can have different capacity. Where OpenAI has not published a universal count, a third party should not invent one.
Weekly reset time
The next weekly refresh is shown in Settings and Usage inside Codex or ChatGPT Work. That account display is the authoritative source.
Timezone presentation can change the calendar date you see. AIReset changes public-record display zones but cannot alter the account's actual instant.
Why the date may change
Plan changes, upgrades, banked-reset use or product-policy changes may alter what the interface displays. Whether a cycle is re-anchored depends on actual product behavior.
An extra public reset can restore capacity before the normal cycle without necessarily replacing the next weekly reset time.
Short windows versus weekly allowance
Short windows manage bursts; weekly limits manage longer-term totals. Both may need to be available before work can continue.
Waiting for the short window does not necessarily solve an exhausted week, and a weekly refresh does not remove every short-window constraint.
Is a Reset the weekly refresh?
A public Full Reset may restore weekly capacity, but its scope must come from the source. A Banked Reset is usually a stored credit.
AIReset keeps extra public events separate from normal personal cycles so one is not mistaken for a universal weekly refresh.
