The basic definition
Codex applies usage limits according to account, plan and workload. The Usage screen describes the normal windows for an individual account. Public reset announcements usually describe an additional restoration outside that ordinary cycle.
AIReset separates completed resets, future-facing signals and community forecasts. A service recovery or model launch is not marked as a completed reset unless the source explicitly confirms one.
Normal refreshes and extra resets
A normal refresh follows the window attached to your account. Different users can see different times, so a public tracker cannot replace the Usage screen.
An extra reset may follow an incident, launch, milestone or public commitment. The source must state which users and limits are affected; broad wording should not be expanded beyond what was announced.
Full Reset versus Banked Reset
A Full Reset normally restores capacity directly. A Banked Reset is a stored credit that may require activation from the Usage interface.
A banked credit is not an automatic refresh and is not guaranteed for every user. Eligibility, expiry and plan coverage come from the account interface and original announcement.
Why reset time is not fixed
Extra resets have no published recurring schedule. Historical gaps describe past rhythm but cannot promise a future date. Stronger evidence comes from Tibo's public posts and replies or official OpenAI information.
When a source says “next week” without a day, AIReset displays a watch window instead of inventing an exact time. Without a public signal, historical statistics remain supporting context only.
How to check your allowance
Open Codex or ChatGPT Work, then visit Settings and Usage. The account view is authoritative for your short and weekly windows.
If a public reset is confirmed but has not appeared, allow time for propagation and check whether the announcement limits eligibility by plan, region or account state.
